Gifted Gorgeousness 2018 - February

Good evening everyone.

I hope you are all well.

This month, although a little late I'm joining in with Jo from Serendipitous Stitching who hosts Gifted Gorgeousness....

This is where you can share the stitching projects which you have been given as a gift or you intend as a gift for someone else....

There are lots of ways to shoehorn a project into Gifted Gorgeousness.....

  • Any chart/kit which was given to you
  • Any chart/kit which you won in a giveaway
  • Any chart/kit which you bought using a voucher given to you/won by you
  • Anything stitched on fabric received in the above ways
  • Anything stitched with floss received in the above ways
  • Anything embellished or finished with items received in the above ways
  • Anything which is intended as a gift or prize for another person
  • Anything else you can somehow shoehorn with word "gift" into!

This month I haven't managed to do very much in the way of stitching as I have been knitting away as though my life depended on it.....I am determind to finish my

Shawl Of Secrets

I'm well on my way with this now....

I have only managed to add a few more stitches to my

 ABC chart from Bent Creek

Not much progress but it has been a very busy month in one way or another...

So now I need to see what everyone else has been working on for Gifted Gorgeousness.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

A little Trip To London...

Good morning everyone.

I hope you are all well and managing to stay warm.

We took a little trip to London at the weekend....mainly to see....well actually.....to see Jeff Tweedy at the Barbican which I thoroughly enjoyed I might add.....

But I did manage to weedle my way to taking a small detour (the less said about 'small' detour) to....

LOOP

Oh my word what a joy this lovely shop is. Yarny heaven and the ladies were so helpful....especially to a knitting novice like myself...

Thank you ladies for such a fabulous glimpse into knitting heaven....

Needless to say I came away a very happy bunny with three wonderful patterns (which I'm sure I will get my head around)....and two lots of the most fabulous yarn.....I will share these in my next post when I can get some decent light for a passable photograph...

I also managed to watch my beloved rugby on Saturday then leaving King's Cross on Sunday on an early train....

To be back home with perfect timing for the England match and a lovely dinner made by mum and dad....

And of course the match result made for the end of my perfect weekend.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day..

Slow progress but adding stitches when time allows.

Not a bad start....

Question of the Month – What SAL’s are you participating in this year? and If you are participating in the Olympic Stitching Challenge, what challenge are you accepting?  What are your goals?

This year I am taking part in one SAL....

Hosted by Heather over at the Stitching Lotus.

And no....I won't be taking part in The Olympic Stitching Challenge....just too busy I'm afraid.

So now I'm going to sit down and do some knitting....I am determined to finish my lovely Shawl Of Secrets....and I'm thrilled with how it's turning out.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Gifted Gorgeousness 2018 - January

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

This year I have decided to join in with Jo from Serendipitous Stitching who hosts Gifted Gorgeousness.

This is where you can share the stitching projects which you have been given as a gift or you intend as a gift for someone else....There are lots of ways to shoehorn a project into Gifted Gorgeousness and it looks as though I may be pushing my luck as I don't receive much in the way of stitching items as non of my friends stitch and my family very rarely buy me stitchy gifts but I can stitch gifts for others.

Anyway this is where the pushing my luck comes in....

My lovely husband 'gifted' me this DVD for Christmas (after some clever prompting from yours truly of course)....and my intention is to pick a few projects and stitch them for my family as gifts for Christmas this year.....is that a good enough shoehorn?....

I have started stitching this lovely ABC chart from Bent Creek as a gift for a friend who loves cats....

And I gifted this little gem to myself...

This is also my first stitching finish of 2018 too.

So that's it for me so far but I have more projects in mind.

Now I need to see what everyone else is doing for Gifted Gorgeousness.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

January WIPocalpse - 2018

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

After sorting through all my stitching stash I have decided to take part in this years.....

WIPocalypse

WIPocalypse is hosted by Measi's Musings

I have so many projects that I have started to stitch and/or kitted but nothing seems to be reaching the finishing line.....I thought by joining in my motivation may get a kick start and I would see some finishes....We will see!...

Every month we share the projects we want to finish and show our progress....in my case....'if there is any progress....'

My name is Debbie and I have been stitching for about 30 years.....Oh that sounds terrible....and I have so many things that I want to stitch I don't know where to start.....

Here is a list of my WIPocalypse projects for 2018:-

The Spirit of Christmas - Lavender & Lace
2  The Autumn Queen - Mirabilia
3  The Stargazer - Mirabilia
4  Bluebell - Miabilia
5  Kitty Cat Row - Bent Creek
Seashell Treasures - Dimensions
7  Hope - Little Sheep Virtue no. 1 - Little House Needleworks
8  Cardinal Winter - Little House Needleworks
9  Strawberry Biscornu - Jane Greenoff
10 Mini Owl & The Pussycat - HAED
11 Forever Friends - HAED
12 Hot Cocoa - Little House Needleworks
13 Oh Christmas Tree - Little House Needleworks
14 It's Snow Cold - Little House Needleworks
15 Hello Winter - Plum Street Samplers
16 Pomegranate Santa - Plum Street Samplers
17 Jolly Happy Soul - With Thy Needle & Thread
18 Ho! Ho! Ho! - With Thy Needle & Thread

Oh dear this list looks a bit heavy going and rather ambitious but I'm a big girl and I'm sure it will be fine!!!.....

I have no plans for rotations....I will stitch whatever takes my fancy as I go through the year but at least this list gives me some kind of focus and hopefully will keep me motivated in one way or another.....and hopefully my taking part will see some finishes......

A big 'Thank you' to Melissa for hosting this SAL.

Good Luck to all those stitchers who are taking part....I look forward to meeting you all and watching your progress throughout 2018.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.

I really do appreciate your visits and lovely, encouraging comments.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Happy New Year.....A Bit Late......

Good afternoon everyone.

I hope you are all well.

Happy New Year To You All....I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.....

I know...I know...I'm sorry this is a little late....

Our Christmas was lovely although very quiet this year.....

I have been struggling with a flare of my Fibromyalgia for a few months or so now and on top of that I got a wonderful humdinger of a head cold....but things are beginning to improve now....Thankfully....

Not much crafting going on yet but I aim to remedy that.....'Oh the things that I will do'....

I'm joining in with a few things this year to try and spur me on to finish some of my projects...

Firstly I have joined in again with the Goodreads Reading Challenge....

I have pledged to read 24 books this year......so far I'm on track....

I have joined in with....

Gifted Gorgeousness 2018

Smalls SAL 2018

And finally

WIPocalypse 2018

So this should keep me busy and on track.....I hope......

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.
